Provide First Aid
(includes CPR) Nationally recognised
Comprehensive first aid training with practical skills and knowledge. The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range
of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Signs, symptoms and management of the following conditions and injuries:
| CPR on an adult and infant | fractures, dislocations, strains and sprains |
| allergic reaction | head, neck and spinal injuries |
| anaphylaxis | hypothermia |
| asthma | hyperthermia |
| non-life-threatening and life-threatening bleeding | minor wounds |
| burns | nose-bleed |
| cardiac conditions, including chest pain | poisoning |
| choking | seizures |
| diabetes | shock |
| drowning | sharps injuries |
| envenomation - all current treatments | stroke |
| eye injuries |
Education & Care First Aid
HLTAID012
Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
(includes CPR) Nationally recognised
Can be delivered at your venue after hours and weekends
This unit applies to a range of workers within an education and care setting who are required
to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthma and anaphylactic emergencies. This
includes early childhood workers and educators who work with school age children in outside
school hours care and vacation programs.
Signs, symptoms and management of the following conditions included in Provide First Aid PLUS:
| CPR on an adult, child and infant | identification and management of a sick infant or child |
| febrile convulsions | general signs and symptoms of acute illness in children and infants |
| fever | referral and advice services including recognition of signs or symptoms requiring immediate ambulance response |
| pain | emergency action plans for known medical conditions including Asthma and Anaphylaxis |
| vomiting and diarrhoea | age appropriate communication and distraction techniques |
| first aider response to basic physiological differences in children. |
Upon completion of these courses, the following unit(s) will be issued by ABC Licence Training Pty LTD – RTO 3399

Pre-requisites
There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Entry requirements
Learners undertaking the express course must have previously completed the HLTAID011 – Provide first aid.
Learners will be required to provide a copy of their expiring Statement of Attainment on the day of their face-to-face course.
Training requirements
Face to face training consists of theory presentations and range of practical learning activities and scenarios.
Assessment requirements
Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and practical assessments including CPR and First Aid techniques. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.
Course renewal requirements
The statement of attainment is valid for 3 years*.
*Please note that the CPR component of the training is valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.
