Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis

This course is to provide nationally recognised training for
individuals who have responsibility for others in the workplace
(adults and/or children) who have been diagnosed as being at risk of anaphylaxis. Graduates of this course will be able to identify and provide a first aid response to anaphylaxis, develop strategies to prevent exposure to known allergens and minimize risks related to anaphylaxis

 

Combined CPR / Asthma / Anaphylaxis course available

 

22578VIC Anaphylaxis is a 3-year accredited course that requires an annual update. The annual update is the VU23090 Anaphylaxis update. Please check with your employer/organisation whether you need to complete the annual update.

Upon completion of these courses, Nationally recognised certificates will be issued by ABC Licence Training Pty LTD – RTO 3399

Pre-requisites​

There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into these courses. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.

Training requirements​

Face to face training consists of theory presentations and range of practical learning activities and scenarios. Pre-course learning is required

Assessment requirements​

Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and practical assessments including assessing emergency asthma/anaphylaxis situations and completing required paperwork. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.

Course renewal requirements​

The statements of attainment are valid for 2 years

It is a recommendation that best practice for refresher training of these course is that it occurs every 2 years. In addition, it is recommended that the skills and knowledge related to using adrenaline injectors be refreshed at least annually by having hands-on practice using an adrenaline injector trainer device and undertaking industry-relevant training such as the ASCIA anaphylaxis e-training module on adrenaline injectors.

The re-accredited course, 22556VIC Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace, replaces and is equivalent to 22282VIC Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace

The course 22578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis, replaces and is equivalent to the 22300VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis
